Disney: Our adventure begins……
Both myself and my wife had been to Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida many times before we met. My family and I had stayed at hotels off property but mostly we stayed on resort, which I enjoyed as a kid a great deal more. Some of my fondest memories are of Fort Wilderness and the many activities they had there. My wife hadn’t yet had the opportunity to stay on property during any of her many visits, so I told her how she really hadn’t experienced Disney magic until she had stayed in house with the mouse!
Let the Disney adventure begin……
As a family of 6 we usually rented a house in the area and drove down. Our children had grown up a bit and we found ourselves traveling to the Magic Kingdom all by ourselves. Purely by chance we stumbled upon a forum, that described a way to rent points from Disney DVC members. After some digging around on the net we discovered a site called The DVC Rental Store which we found had some features we liked very much such as:
- They didn’t require a deposit to check availability for us.
- We were able to make a deposit when booking to reserve our DVC accommodations with the balance due 45 days prior to arrival. (This fact alone was what my wife wanted to hear, she likes to save and make payments as we can.)
Also it seemed that other DVC brokers wanted full payment at the time of booking.
Originally since my wife and I were going down to Disney at the time of The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival (which is a culinary and entertainment event held each fall in Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida), we thought we might like to stay at the Boardwalk resort. I myself had never stayed there nor had my wife and as luck would have it there was no availability. The reason we would say it was lucky is that we were then offered a stay at the beautiful Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village.
Once you stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, it might be hard to stay anywhere else. Please be sure to subscribe to be notified when we post the write-up.

After staying at this amazingly beautiful resort, we by chance made an appointment to speak to someone about the Disney Vacation Club (DVC). If you have never spoken to someone about this and you are even the slightest bit interested it is a VERY low pressure experience unlike any other timeshare type sales pitch.
Needless to say halfway through our vacation we became members of this fantastically magical DVC.
We have shared our experiences, please share with us your adventures in Disney… Feel free to Comment, Share, and Subscribe.
